Email hello@edniroya.com for anything Lens-related. Bug reports, feature requests, billing questions, or just to say hello.
You can also tap Settings → Support → Share Feedback inside the app to send a message.
Lens takes your current available balance, subtracts the bills and recurring expenses still due before your next payday, subtracts any scheduled goal contributions, then divides what is left by the days remaining in your pay cycle. The number recalculates with every transaction you log, so it always reflects what is actually left for today rather than what you planned at the start of the month.
Runway is how many months your current cash will last if you keep spending at your current pace. It is the same idea startups use to track how long they can operate before running out of money, applied to your personal finances. Lens shows your runway on the Insights screen so you can see whether your current pace is sustainable. The number gets more accurate the more you log, because Lens learns from your real spending pattern rather than an assumed budget.
On your device, in a local database. Lens has no cloud backend for your financial data. If you delete the app without backing up, the data is gone. See the Privacy Policy for the architecture details.
Settings → Data & backup → Export. Choose a location (iCloud Drive recommended). The file is your snapshot. To restore, install Lens on a new device and use Settings → Data & backup → Restore.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancellation happens in your Apple ID settings, not in Lens. iPhone: Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Lens Pro → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Apple sometimes takes a moment to propagate the entitlement, especially if you switched devices. If it still doesn't unlock after 5 minutes, email us with your Apple ID purchase receipt.
Ask AI is a Pro feature. After you upgrade in the App Store, you can ask questions about your money and the AI answers using only the data already on your device. The model is Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, called directly from your device using a key bundled inside the app. Your questions and the financial snapshot are sent to Google's API and never to a Lens server.
Pro includes 100 AI actions per month, covering both Ask AI messages and AI-assisted receipt parsing. Your allowance refreshes on the 1st of each month. On-device receipt OCR is unlimited and doesn't count toward this allowance.
Two paths. The first uses on-device OCR built into iOS, with no internet required. This is available on the free tier and pulls amount, merchant, and date out of most receipts using local pattern matching. The second is AI-assisted parsing for more complex receipts, available to Pro subscribers, which sends only the OCR text or the receipt image to Google Gemini for structured extraction. Which path runs depends on your tier and on how clean the receipt is.
Bank Sync is a planned add-on, not yet live in v1. When it ships, it will be optional and clearly labelled. For now, transactions are added manually or by importing a CSV file from your bank.
